Cider is a wonderfully refreshing drink. Not only does it serve as a fine ingredient for many dishes, but a glass of chilled cider complements almost all foods and is particularly good with ethnic cuisine.

As one of the oldest alcohol beverages known to man, cider is made from the most natural of ingredients.

With a cider to suit every palate, these general guidelines may help you when choosing the best type of cider for your own dishes:

Dry Cider is excellent with fish, chicken and salads;
Medium Cider is for those who prefer a little sweetness and a fuller flavour and is particularly suited to red meat, pork and oriental food;
Medium Sweet Cider is full bodied, but refreshing and light, and is great with fruit and cheese.

The following mouth-watering recipes, from around the world, taste great on any occasion and are simple to prepare. Remember, the flavour of cider works as well with sweet as it does savoury dishes!
